Adult Fitness & Sport Conditioning

At Twist Sport Conditioning everyone is an athlete. The Twist team of coaches will bring out the athlete in you, helping you enjoy life pain-free, and making you functionally fit for sport and everyday activities. Each adult group session is 1 hour and 15 minutes in length and participants can choose to train 1, 2, 3 or 4 sessions per week. Participants can mix and match different programs, however you must choose a specific program date and time. See schedule below for session dates and times.

Our 14 week FALL program (September 13 - December 18) registration is now open.

Special Twist Event this Fall 2010 - GROUP TESTING COMBINE

Measure your fitness levels before and after your Fall Program. Join us at the center where a group of our elite sport conditioning coaches will take you through two hours of functional testing. We will test your strength, power, movement, balance and conditioning levels. All participants must be registered in a group program. Must be booked by September 8th.

Dates:

Pre-Testing - Sunday, Sept 12, 1-3pm Post-Testing - Sunday, December 12, 1-3pm

Cost:

$50 per test purchased individually, or $90 for both pre and post.

Adult Functional Fitness* AFF

Twist's most popular Adult Conditioning program is guaranteed to make your body more fit and functional. Adult Functional Fitness is a group (non-choreographed) training program that integrates balance, full body strength, core strength, stability, agility, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, flexibility, and more. This 1 hour and 15 minute workout will increase your fitness level, meet your athletic goals, and develop your body to meet the demands of life and sport. Train 1, 2, 3, or 4 times per week.

Anaerobic sport conditioning*aSC

If you are looking for a workout to challenge your limits and drive your heart rate near your max, the ASC class is for you. ASC will train the anaerobic energy system through multi-directional interval training, resisted and overspeed running, agility and plyometrics, hill sprinting, muscular endurance training and bike intervals. Increase your cardiovascular capacity by elevating your V02 max with the new ASC class.

Cycle Sport Core conditioningCsC

Take your conditioning to a higher level in this NEW dynamic program which incorporates BOSU® and the stationary BIKES. Challenge your limits for 75 minutes using proper cycling mechanics, anaerobic intervals, balance, co-ordination, core stabilization, core strength and athletic mobility. Whether you are looking for an extra punch to compliment your workouts or prepping for the Spring riding season our certified cycling instructor and Twist coach will ensure you get what you came for!

For all those mountain-bikers, cyclists, paddlers, adventure racers, tri-athletes, swimmers and runners looking to improve their sport performance and prevent injury the ESC program is for you. This program will focus on building joint stability and mobility, increase functional strength, develop core power and enhance your anaerobic conditioning system through Twist’s specialized balance, strength and movement training paradigm. Get ready to own the trails, pavement and water this Spring.

GPT will begin by assessing and correcting your posture through golf specific balance and movement mechanic drills. Here we will discover the weak links in your kinetic chain and the many muscle imbalances that develop from playing golf. You will then be coached thru your 12 week progressive program that will build balance, dynamic range of motion, joint mobility, core strength, linked strength and rotary power helping you hit the ball further, more accurately and most importantly keeping you healthy for the long golf season ahead.

Strength Ball core training*sbC

Inspired by the best seller book “Strength Ball Training” by Peter Twist and Lorne Goldenberg, this core class will challenge your core to a whole new level. SBC training focuses on developing stability, strength, and endurance in the abdominals, hips, lower back and glutes. If you are looking for a low impact workout, want to develop the 6 pack abs you’ve been dreaming of, or want to get rid of on-going lower back pains, SBC is the class for you.

TWIST Functional Breakfast*tfb

The functional breakfast is the perfect opportunity to get your early morning workout in. This high intensity workout will be completed in 45 minutes. You will be in and out of the training centre in 45 minutes after an amazing balance, strength, core and aerobic conditioning workout. Get on your way to work or back home with more energy. Showers and change rooms are available at the SCC.

TWIST Functional Lunch*tfl

The functional lunch is the perfect opportunity to get your workout in on your lunch break. This high intensity workout will be completed in 45 minutes. You will be in and out of the training centre in 45 minutes after an amazing balance, strength, core and aerobic conditioning workout. Go back to work or home with more energy. Showers and change rooms are available at the SCC.

West Coast OutdoorWCO

Take advantage of everything the West Coast has to offer with the “NEW” West Coast Outdoor Conditioning Class. This program will challenge you with exercises, drills, and training tools that you don’t typically see in a Twist Adult Functional Fitness Class. The Twist Team will use safe and effective training techniques to give you a full body strength and conditioning workout that will focus on increasing your aerobic and anaerobic energy systems, plus improve your core and full body strength. Get fit and athletic in one of the best training environments in the world. Sessions will take place in the fields, trails, around the Twist Portland Center plus partial sessions inside. Participants of all levels are welcome as you will train at your own pace.

Yoga Sport*Yoga

Whether you are looking to improve your flexibility and function for activity and performance or you are an avid yoga student, this 75min class will focus on your balance, strength, coordination, flexibility and core stability. Linking postures together in a flowing sequence emphasizes continuous steady rhythm of breath and movement creating an athletic practice. Postures target tension areas and stiff muscles to compliment your regular training and performance sessions. This program is taught in the Twist environment by a yoga teacher and conditioning coach - suitable for all ages.
